Time 100 is an annual listicle of the 100 most influential people in the world, assembled by the American news magazine Time. First published in 1999 as the result of a debate among American academics, politicians, and journalists, the list is now a highly publicized annual event.

" Some of the biggest names in entertainment, politics, sport and media come together to celebrate the cultural moment we live in."

"This event rests, as influence rests, at the intersection of accomplishment and renown."

- Nancy Gibbs, TIME Managing Editor

In many ways, these connections—forged across and among industries—are the heart of the TIME 100, which now, in its 16th year, is far more than a list. It is a community of hundreds of global leaders, many of whom support and challenge one another. And at a time when so many of our problems require cross-disciplinary solutions, they are also uniquely positioned to effect change.

TIME 100 GALA 2016 - 2019

TIME Magazine's annual spring Gala took on a whole new look and feel in 2016 when Lee Changzhi was tasked with bringing it to life an installation of their iconic photographs in a whole new way. Cascading from the ceiling, each photo was theatrically suspended mid air as attendees mingled below. A star studded cast including John Legend, Ariana Grande, Aziz Ansari, Trevor Noah, President Donald J. Trump, Louis Hamilton and Taylor Swift have used the installation as a backdrop to one of the most photographed events in the New York City social calendar.

Lee Changzhi gave the iconic red boarder a whole new meaning, as a blank canvas into a new world, open with possibilities and ready for change. He designed a standard installation template that continues to be used every year since 2016, setting a new standard for how the 100 most inflential people are displayed each May in New York City. A unique partnership with Citibank for 2016, also required the decor to be a unique combination of signature TIME red and Citi blue.
